Artists — Xela

John Twells was born in 1981 in Wolverhampton. He picked up on music when he was about 7 years old and learnt the flute, progressed to saxophone, and then became pretty enamoured by the guitar. After playing in bands for a couple of years, he decided it was time he wrote some solo music, and began recording tracks on a 4-track Tascam desk, using a crappy casio keyboard, guitar and eventually a 606. He first released on Lee Norris' Neo Ouija label, culminating in the album "Frosty Mornings And Summer Nights". The second album under his moniker "Xela" was released on CCO. He runs the record label "Type" and also records with Gabriel Morley as "Yasume".
