Labels — Lefse Records

Matt and I started a different label in 2004 working with friends' bands and other local artists in Southern California, where we learned the ropes through our own trials and tribulations. Our only experience was Matt interning for the now defunct Ace Fu Records in NYC for a summer. I learned about the theoretical side as I wrote the business plan as my college senior project (I was way off looking back now!). We turned that label into a management company, and Matt found Neon Indian on a blog but they already had management representation, so we decided to start a new label for that record. We had no idea it would turn into what it is now. Since then we've signed great artists such as Youth Lagoon, A Classic Education and Dominant Legs.
