On »Border Beach«, the opening track of Lolina’s 2026 solo album, an acid synth line lies askew, twitching through the intro as though it has somehow strayed into the wrong song. On the second track, a drum machine rattles beneath skewed two-note melodies. On the third, it becomes clear that the acid synth had not lost its way after all, now playing around some atmospheric chords. On the fourth, the acid element shifts into the bassline; the fifth offers a brief vaporwave interlude. Only then does Inga Copeland begin to sing, and the album becomes funkier and poppier.
