Cities are rich with soundscapes—some strikingly prominent, others subtle and elusive. Every street, alley, neighborhood, park, and harbor carries its own evolving sonic identity, making each moment distinct and unrepeatable.
As part of the third act of the Unlearning Noise program (»Act 3: Dissonant Connections«), Eventless Plot presented an electroacoustic composition on October 12, 2023, at the cultural multi-space PHĒNO. The work drew from field recordings, blending discrete and processed sounds with other audio sources to reimagine specific locations and experiences as imaginative auditory worlds. »Unlearning Noise« invites listeners to reinterpret the concept of noise within urban environments, encouraging them to uncover its hidden meanings and untapped possibilities.
Formed in 2002 in Thessaloniki, Eventless Plot create a distinctive hybrid of sound by borrowing elements from different genres and aesthetics, with close attention to sonic detail across multiple forms of experimentalism. Their practice involves a variety of instruments, analogue sources, field recordings, and Max/MSP patches, often incorporating musical segments through collaborations with other musicians.
The group also works in sound design and composition for art installations, films, and dance projects. Their releases have appeared on internationally recognized labels including Another Timbre (UK), Edition Wandelweiser (Germany), Dinzu Artefacts (USA), Moving Furniture Contemporary Series (Netherlands), Tsss Tapes (Italy), Granny Records (Greece), Dasa Tapes (Greece), Aural Terrains (UK), Archive Officielle (Canada), and Never Anything Records (USA). Eventless Plot have performed live at numerous festivals and venues in Greece and abroad.
